Eilowyn 3 years ago 1. With Diablo turning 22 years old this year, it may seem impossible to get such an old game running on a modern OS without using a VM, especially on Windows 10 which disables safedisc, effectively killing off old games that use CD-ROM formats.

Fortunately, there are easy-to-setup tools made by the community to get this awesome piece of gaming history working, and playing, smoothly. First, get the actual games from Archive. Since Blizzard doesn't support, acknowledge, or care about Diablo 1 anymore, the game can be safely considered abandonware at this point.

I'm like an old woman when it comes to the slightest technical computer stuff. It is probably against the rules to discuss this here. You may have better luck discussing it back on the site where you found the release in the first place. It is already being discussed in here, also this more than 15 year old game is kind of hard to get by, especially the Hellfire expansion. I still have Diablo in its original box with the cd and manual, but my old Hellfire cd is gone, so I really dont see any other way to get to play this good ol' game.

Clervis Diabloii. It's a program that pretends isos are CDs. Don't know if that helps. Yes, do like Clervis said, and download Daemon Tools Lite, or else download nothing and content with cracking the main exe.
